Can I pay through Centrepay?

Payments & arrangements

Centrepay is a free bill-paying service run by Services Australia (Centrelink) that allows recipients of certain government payments to arrange regular deductions from their Centrelink payment to pay bills and expenses directly. It is available for a range of approved service providers and is designed to help people on government income manage regular commitments without the risk of dishonoured payments.

Is Centrepay available for Merion accounts? Availability of Centrepay depends on whether Merion is a registered Centrepay service provider. Contact us directly to confirm whether Centrepay can be used for your account.

If Centrepay is available:

  1. Contact us to confirm the Centrepay details — including our service provider reference number.
  2. Log in to your myGov account linked to Centrelink, go to the Centrepay section, and set up a new deduction using the details we provide.
  3. Nominate the amount you want deducted each payment period and the start date.

If Centrepay is not available: We can still work with you on an arrangement that reflects your Centrelink income. Many people on government payments make small regular direct transfers from their bank account that align with their Centrelink pay cycle. Contact us to discuss what works for your situation.

Free guidance on managing bills and debts on Centrelink income is also available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.
