Do you work with insolvency practitioners and liquidators?

For businesses

Yes. Merion works with insolvency practitioners — including liquidators, voluntary administrators, receivers and trustees in bankruptcy — in several capacities.

Proof of debt support: If you are owed money by a company or individual that has entered an insolvency process, a proof of debt must be lodged with the insolvency practitioner to register your claim and participate in any distribution. We can assist you in identifying and quantifying the debt, preparing the proof of debt documentation, and lodging it correctly.

Portfolio work for practitioners: Liquidators and administrators sometimes engage Merion to assist with the recovery of debts owed to an insolvent estate — for example, outstanding receivables that form part of the company's assets. These engagements are assessed individually based on the nature of the portfolio.

Debt portfolio purchases: In some circumstances, insolvency practitioners seek to sell a portfolio of outstanding receivables as part of winding up a company. Merion can assess and quote on the purchase of such portfolios.

General commercial recovery following insolvency: After a restructure or a DOCA, a business may have receivables it wants to recover efficiently. We work with businesses emerging from insolvency on their ongoing collections needs.
