Are there any fees for paying online?

Payments & arrangements

Merion does not charge a fee simply for paying online. However, depending on the payment method you choose, a small processing surcharge may apply.

Bank transfer (EFT) — no surcharge. Transferring directly from your bank account to Merion's bank account is free. The only cost is any fee your own bank may charge for an outgoing transfer, which varies by institution and account type.

BPAY — no surcharge from Merion. Some banks do charge their own customers a BPAY transaction fee — check with your financial institution if you are unsure.

Card payments (credit or debit card) — a small processing surcharge may apply. Payment card processing involves fees charged to us by the payment network, and some of this may be passed on as a surcharge to the cardholder. Any surcharge that applies is shown to you clearly on the payment confirmation screen before you finalise the transaction — you will always see it before you commit.

To avoid any surcharge entirely, paying by bank transfer or BPAY is the simplest route. If you have questions about the fee structure for your specific account, contact us and we will confirm what applies.
