I received an SMS from Merion. Is it real?

About your debt

Merion does send SMS messages as part of account contact, so a message from us is not automatically suspicious. However, it is sensible to verify before acting on any text message about a debt.

A genuine SMS from Merion will:

  • include your reference number or part of your name;
  • direct you to our published website or phone number — never to an unfamiliar link;
  • never ask you to provide credit card details, passwords, or personal information by text.

If the SMS you received does not match these features, or if you are uncertain, do not click any link in the message. Instead, contact us using the phone number published on this website, or log in directly to the portal at the address you already know.

If you believe you have received a fraudulent message impersonating Merion, let us know. You can also report scam messages to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.
