Yes. You do not need to come into an office or make a phone call to start a hardship application — you can begin online.
Your options:
- Online form — the Request a Payment Arrangement form lets you describe your situation, including any hardship circumstances, and propose a payment amount that reflects what you can afford. This is the quickest way to get a request in front of us in writing.
- Email — you can write to us directly at the email address on this website, quoting your reference number, and explain your situation. We will respond in writing and work through the options with you.
- Phone — if you prefer to talk through your circumstances, you are welcome to call us. Our contact details are on this website.
Whichever way you contact us, you will be dealt with respectfully and without judgment. Hardship is a normal thing to raise, and our goal is to find an arrangement that is realistic for your situation.
If you would like independent support before contacting us, a free financial counsellor from the National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) can help you prepare and, if needed, deal with us on your behalf.
