I'm in a domestic violence situation — what help is available?

Hardship & support

If you are in a domestic violence situation, your safety is the priority. There is help available, and we will approach your account with sensitivity and care.

Immediate support services:

  • 1800RESPECT — national sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service: call 1800 737 732, available 24/7.
  • DVConnect (Queensland) — call 1800 811 811.
  • Safe Steps (Victoria) — call 1800 015 188.

When it comes to your account with us, please know that:

  • You can have someone else deal with us on your behalf — a support worker, counsellor or trusted person.
  • We can adjust contact methods to protect your safety — for example, avoiding contact by phone if that is not safe for you.
  • Financial hardship arising from a domestic violence situation is a recognised hardship, and we will work with you accordingly.

Please contact us if you need to discuss your account in this context. We will handle it with discretion and care.
