What's happening

Verification codes are a security step that confirms it is really you signing in. They are sent automatically, so if one hasn't reached you, it is nearly always because of a short delay, a spam filter, or a code being sent to an old email or phone number.

None of this is a sign of a problem with your account — and the fixes are quick.

Try this first

  • If the code comes by email, check your spam and junk folders.
  • If it comes by SMS, make sure your phone has signal and isn't blocking unknown numbers.
  • Wait a couple of minutes — codes can be delayed, particularly during busy periods.
  • Check you are looking at the right inbox or phone — the one linked to your account.

Step by step

  1. On the verification screen, look for a Resend code option and select it once.
  2. Give it a minute or two, then enter the newest code you receive — older codes may have expired.
  3. If the code goes to an email you no longer use, you'll need to update your contact details before it can reach you.
  4. Enter the code carefully, as a single wrong digit will be rejected.

If that didn't work

If codes simply aren't arriving, the contact details on your account may be out of date. Our guides on updating your phone number and updating your details explain how to fix this once you are signed in. If you can't sign in at all because of the code, contact us so we can help directly.

Who to contact

Reach out through the Help Centre if codes never arrive. We can verify your identity another way, check the email and phone number on file, and update them if they are out of date. Have your reference number handy if you can.

Good to know

  • Codes are usually just delayed or caught by a spam filter.
  • Always use the newest code you receive, as older ones expire.
  • Out-of-date contact details are a common reason codes don't arrive.
  • Contact the Help Centre if codes never come through.

FAQ

Why do I need a verification code at all?

It is an extra layer of security that confirms it is really you signing in, helping keep your account details safe from anyone else.

The code arrived but says it's invalid. What now?

Codes expire quickly, so an old one will be rejected. Request a fresh code and enter the most recent one straight away, checking each digit.

Can I get the code a different way?

If your usual method isn't working, contact the Help Centre. We can verify your identity another way and help update your contact details.
